On September 24, 2002, the first organizational meeting of the National Association for Critical Illness Insurance was held in Chicago, Illinois.

During this meeting, the election of Directors and Officers occurred. The Board of Directors by unanimous acceptance, voted in the Association By Laws.

Application for 501(c)(6) status was filed and approved this same day.
